  • Google Pixel 9a

The Pixel 9a launched in India in April 2025 at Rs 49,999 for 8 GB plus 256 GB. It dropped the camera visor that defined Pixel design since 2021 in favour of a nearly flush camera module, giving it a clean look. It also upgraded to IP68 dust and water resistance and carried over Google's seven-year update commitment.

The 6.3-inch Actua pOLED runs at 120Hz and is notably brighter than the Pixel 8a's panel, though the bezels remain thicker than on rivals. Tensor G4 is the same chip as the Pixel 9 series, delivering smooth everyday performance and Gemini features, even if 8 GB of RAM limits some on-device AI functions compared with its pricier siblings.

The camera pairing is a 48 MP main with OIS and a 13 MP ultrawide, producing reliably good results with strong low-light processing. Battery capacity grows to 5100 mAh, the largest in any A-series Pixel, with 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging. Against the OnePlus 13R and Galaxy A56, it wins on camera consistency and support length rather than speed.

  • Nothing Phone (2a)

The Phone (2a) launched in India in March 2024 at Rs 23,999 for 8 GB plus 128 GB, making Nothing's design accessible to a much larger audience. It was also partly designed with Indian buyers in mind, and its horizontal camera layout, framed by three Glyph light strips, gave it a friendly, slightly retro look distinct from its pricier siblings.

The 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED runs at 120Hz with thin, even bezels. The custom MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro is efficient and fast enough for everyday use and moderate gaming, broadly matching the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 in the Redmi Note 13 Pro. Nothing OS 2.5 over Android 14 stays clean, with no bloatware and three years of OS updates promised.

The two 50 MP cameras, a main with OIS and an ultrawide, produce good daylight photos with natural tones. Battery life is a strength, with the 5000 mAh cell easily reaching a day and a half, and 45W charging. It lacks wireless charging and has only IP54, but against the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Realme 12 Pro it offers cleaner software and a more memorable design.

  • Motorola Moto G54 5G

The Moto G54 5G landed in India in September 2023 at Rs 15,999 for 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and it focused on stamina and clean software. A 6000 mAh battery, near-stock Android and a generous memory configuration made it a sensible pick against the Redmi Note 12 and Samsung Galaxy M34 in the crowded under-Rs 20,000 space.

Its 6.5-inch IPS LCD runs at 120Hz with full HD resolution; it lacks the contrast of the AMOLED panels on rivals but is sharp and smooth. The MediaTek Dimensity 7020 is a modest performer built for efficiency. Motorola kept practical extras such as a 3.5 mm headphone jack, microSD expansion, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and IP52 splash protection.

The 50 MP main camera has OIS, unusual at this price, which helps in low light and video, while the 8 MP ultrawide is basic. Charging is 30W, so refilling the large battery takes a while, but a full charge comfortably lasts two days. Its main weakness is the LCD, which looks dull next to the Galaxy M34's Super AMOLED.

  • Motorola Moto G64 5G

The Moto G64 5G arrived in India in April 2024 at Rs 14,999 for 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It was a successor in spirit to the G54, and kept the same recipe: a large battery, clean software and a few useful hardware touches that budget phones often drop, such as OIS, stereo speakers and a headphone jack.

The 6.5-inch full HD LCD runs at 120Hz. It is sharp and fluid but lacks the depth of the AMOLED screens on the Redmi Note 13 and Galaxy M35, and that is the main area where rivals pull ahead. The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 offers steady everyday performance and good efficiency, which pairs well with the 6000 mAh cell.

On the back, a 50 MP main camera with OIS is joined by an 8 MP ultrawide, and the front has a 16 MP shooter. Battery life is the standout, easily stretching to two days for moderate users, with 33W charging. Android 14 with Motorola's light skin is uncluttered, though the update promise is shorter than Samsung offers on its M and F series.

  • Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Motorola launched the Edge 60 Fusion in India in April 2025 at Rs 22,999 for 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, doubling the base storage of its predecessor at the same price. It keeps the brand's design-first approach with Pantone colours and textured finishes, and adds IP69 resistance to high-pressure water jets on top of IP68 submersion protection.

The 6.67-inch quad-curved pOLED has a sharper 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a small step down from the Edge 50 Fusion's 144Hz that few users will notice. The Dimensity 7400 is a mild upgrade over the outgoing Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, handling daily tasks smoothly while keeping heat in check, and the phone shipped with Android 15.

Cameras carry over the 50 MP Sony LYTIA 700C main sensor with OIS and a 13 MP ultrawide that doubles as a macro camera. Battery capacity rises to 5500 mAh with 68W charging, giving reliable two-day endurance. Against the Nothing Phone (3a) and Realme 14 Pro it is weaker on zoom but stronger on durability, storage and display sharpness.
